The Company's History and Objectives
Pereslavl-Zalessky
Pereslavl-Zalessky
Apart from the fuss of the Moscow capital, an hour and a half drive away from Moscow and Yaroslavl, on the bank of the blue Russian pearl  — Plescheyevo lake, a cradle of the Russian Navy, in the ancient Russian town Pereslavl-Zalessky, founded by the grand prince Yuri Dolgoruki, there is situated a comparatively young but a fast developing company «GrosStems». We have come to the decision to establish the company «GrosStems» in this town with glorious historical roots because of its well developed industry, old industrial traditions and highly qualified population. Besides, from the logistics point of view Pereslavl-Zalessky has a perfect location, as the transport
Oleg Amiranov Oleg Amiranov,
Director General:

«Developing the project we took into consideration various proposals given by the world machinery manufacturers. The German leading manufacturer «Hauni» offered us the most up-to-date stem and cut rag blend processing technology.»

is available by railway (railway wagons and containers) as well as by trucks.

The history of the «GrosStems» company can be traced back to October 2000
when a contract was concluded and signed with the leading German tobacco machinery manufacturer, «Hauni», for delivery of a complete line for production of expanded stem and expanded cut rag.

This unique project, which took a year to be developed, led to the «Hauni» company delivering equipment for running the original HDT (High temperature Dried Tobacco) process. Despite the severe weather during the winter of 2001, a new 11,500-square-meter building was constructed in record time between January and May 2001. In  May - June 2001 the technological equipment from Germany was delivered and installation and commissioning began. Meanwhile the technical staff was trained at «Siemens».
After the first supplies of raw materials, the first lot of expanded stem was produced in October 2001.
